After operating for more than 7 years, the company was in 2015 sold to HEY YOU OÜ. The new company wanted GLXY to be an international site, and we had to build up a new team of developers.
The first developer we interviewed was really enthusiastic about the project and was very excited to get started. Then he realized what kind of a website we were running and changed his mind.
About 14 or 15 developers refused to work with us for the same reason, but after a while, and months of delay, we finally hired a team that were capable of building GLXY into something great. On January 1st 2016, we re-launched the site with more than 100 new functions, and we are continually updating and adding new features.
Today, almost a dozen dedicated, young, creative professionals from 6 different countries are at your service to provide you with what we are sure will become the best gay site in the world.
We are certainly not the biggest LGBT website on this planet, but we are local. We answer all your questions and concerns promptly, and listen carefully and attentively to our users, constantly improving our website based on your feedback.
The fusion of your ideas and ours is tomorrow's GLXY. Here’s an example: one of our users contacted us on a Saturday afternoon and asked if we could turn the regular messages into a live chat. And we thought – why not? It took 6 hours from the moment the request ticked in until our brilliant developers had implemented the new chat function into the site. Beat that!
As the first international social network we do not allow our users to promote or seek unprotected sex.
We commit to being conscientious regarding issues such as HIV and AIDS that affect the LGBT community worldwide, because we care about every single one of our users and want to foster a safe community together.
